The Course Structure is designed to meet the marketing needs of the any business in general and the specific requirements of the retail industry, and is in conformity with the AICTE guidelines. The first year of the course is devoted to the basic courses, which deal with the important areas of business management, marketing and retail management, so as to provide the students with the opportunities to study and acquire the skills, which are essential to formulate and solve the problems of the industries. At the end of the first year, students undergo six to eight weeks of summer internship in reputed companies for industry exposure and to gain hands-on experience of working in a business organization.

The second year is devoted to the study of vital issues of strategy and implementation. The students will get an opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge in select areas of Marketing and Retail Management. They will also undertake a long term project for an intensive study of managerial issues in their areas of interest in reputed organizations. The course has 110 credits. Need based non-credit courses are also provided.

The candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of SC/ST/PC candidates), of any of the universities or declared to be deemed as a university or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

Candidates appearing for the final year degree examination (or equivalent examination) can also apply. The proof of acquiring the required qualification should be submitted within four weeks from the date of the commencement of the course. Work experience or sponsorship by firms will be given due weightage.

The Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE), being the premier Business School at Hyderabad started a two-year full time Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) in 1995 with the approval of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is also recognized equivalent to MBA by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to provide skilled human resources to meet the requirements of the Industry. The admission to the course is through the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by Indian Institute of Management (IIMs).

The notable features of the PGDBM course is its emphasis on Personality Development, study of a foreign language (French), hands-on-experience of computers and wide option of electives. There is growing and enthusiastic response from corporate houses for campus recruitment of its students.

As part of IPE’s mission to provide trained manpower to the corporate sector, the Institute launched a two-year full-time PGDBM programme in 1995 with the approval of All India Council for Technical Education, Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India.

The Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM), is a two-year full-time programme comprising four semesters of study including project work.

They also undertake a Long Term project to have an intensive study of managerial issues in their selected areas of interest in reputed organisations. The course has 112 credits. Need based non-credit courses are also provided.

The candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of the candidates belonging to scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe or persons with Disability category), of any of the Universities or declared to be deemed as a University or posses an equivalent qualification recognised by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.

The Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is a 2-year, full time programme approved by the AICTE. NDIM is accredited by National Board of Accreditation, Govt. of India and enjoys MBA equivalence from Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The Programme is designed to sustain all round excellence and provide an in-depth understanding of key functional areas of Management covering Marketing, Finance, Production & Operations Management, Human Resource Development, and Information Technology & International Business.

The programme focuses on integrated development of individual and collective spirit, to enable the students in effectively adapting to the realities of the corporate world and proactively responding to the challenges arising in the globally changing environment. The two year full time Post Graduate Programme comprises of four semesters. Each student is required to undertake an original study on a topic / problem of current management related interest which would call for further investigation & research including collection of data & field work as may be needed and submit the conclusion and recommendations through a well written project report as per guidelines in force.

The major project, to be initiated in the third Semester and completed in the final Semester is the culmination of the evaluation of a student and it serves as a test to demonstrate her / his originality and creativity in understanding a business situation, its analysis, and offering solutions. A student is expected to combine theoretical knowledge with practical field study where data analysis should be undertaken through the use of concepts and techniques of relevant research methodologies. Unless and until satisfactory project reports are submitted, the course work requirements for PGDM are considered incomplete.

The students’ work will be evaluated by a panel of experts and the students will, also, have to undergo viva voce before a board constituted for this purpose.

A Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3 or 4) in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grades.

The M.C.A. program prepares students to take up positions as systems analysts, systems designers, programmers, and managers in any field related to information technology. The selection of students to three years M.C.A programme is strictly on the basis of Odisha JEE Rank.
